Revell T-90 kit no. 03190 released and a model building competition by hlj.com!

Two news items for today! An interesting release from Revell and a model building competition at HLJ.com!

The T-90
Revell released it's model of the T-90 in 1/72 a few days ago. I got mine today and it looks very good. Someone else was first with posting sprue pictures so I won't post my own here since these by Alex Clark are very good. I haven't seen the boxart online so far so you get that one from me:

Modelbuilding competition
The Japanese webshop HobbyLink Japan organises a modelbuilding competition, or Playing with PlaMo competition as they call it (PlaMo as from PLAstic MOdels I presume). They did this last year as well but this year there is a difference, you can enter with every model you like, not just Gundam robots like last year! One of the rules is that the model you build must not be on photo's on the internet anywhere, they really want to have some new content which is a good thing in my opinion. You have to post at least 4 work in progress pictures during the competition period which lasts until the end of this year. On the PlaMo website you make a kind of blog showing your work and you can follow the work of others. This is also the place where you publish the work in progress photo's. You can enter in three categories being 'beginner', 'intermediate' or 'advanced'. This references to your modelling skills, the jury will take a look at this too and could decide to move you to an other category. In short the following rules apply to the competition:

  • The model you build must be new, that is no pictures of it should be anywhere on the web yet.
  • You are not allowed to publish pictures of the model on any other place then PlaMo website until the end of the competition.
  • Post at least 4 work in progress pictures on your PlaMo blog.
  • You can submit one model as a final entry for the jury, you can however post pictures of multiple builds so you have until the last moment to decide which of your builds is going to take a change at winning the prizes.
